Abstract EN

In this study it was estimate four heavy metal elements (cadmium, copper, nickel, lead ) in samples of fish- fish feed- water, and sediment in artificial lakes of Baghdad city.

Samples were collected from eighteen artificial Lake.

The results of the current study showed that the concentrations of heavy metals rate (cadmium, copper, nickel, and lead) in the fish respectively : 0.200 ppm, 0.111 ppm, 0.261 ppm, 1.539 ppm.

Whereas, their concentration in provender (feed) were 0.0301 ppm, 0.080 ppm , 0.158 ppm, 0.186, whereas for the water 0.0101ppm, 0.0044 ppm, 0.0472 ppm, 0.8185 ppm respectively Whereas for the sediment respectively : 0.0738 ppm, 0.067 ppm, و 1.078 ppm, 1.441.

The statistically results showed that the concentrations of heavy metals rate (cadmium, copper, lead) in fish was an average higher than in the sediments , water and feed, but for the concentration rate of nickel in sediments was higher than it is in fish, feed, water, And when compared concentrations rates of heavy metals in fish with the permissible limits the results showed that the concentrations of cadmium and lead levels were higher than the permissible limits of the World Health Organization and food and Agriculture Organization, but the copper concentration was less than the permissible limit.

while the water results in relation to the concentration of lead level and nickel higher than the permissible limits of the World Health Organization, but the copper concentration was less than the limit and the concentration of cadmium was within the limits and when comparison the results of the concentration levels of heavy metals (cadmium, copper, nickel, lead) in sediment artificial lake with the Tigris River sediments results showed that the concentration levels in the Tigris River higher than the concentration levels in artificial lakes as well as in relation to concentrations (cadmium, copper, lead) in the Euphrates River sediments were higher than in the artificial lakes for the city of Baghdad.-
