The effect of chemical treatment using different organic solvents and different immersion time on optical properties of Copper Phthalocyanine Tetrasulfonic Acid tetrasodium Salt (CuPcTs) thin films which are fabricated via the spin coating was investigated in this work.

The chemical bonds structure and their locations of as-deposited and treated films also studied using Forrier Transform-Infra Red (FTIR) measurements.

the peaks corresponding to C=C aromatic bond, C-N bond, C-C bond and S=O bond increase at 40 min then decrease at 60 and 80 min for time treatment with both chloroform and talwen.

The absorption spectra of the films prepared and chemical treated of CuPcTs was measured and used to calculate the absorption coefficients and energy gaps.

The intensity of peaks for B-band and Q-band increase then decrease and the energy gap decrease from 1.41 to 1.38 eV for Q band and from 3.08 to 3.01 eV for B band at 40 min then increase to 1.39 eV for Q band and from 3.01 to 3.06 eV for B band at chemical time treatment 80 min with chloroform.

While the intensities increase and the energy gap, for the two bands, decrease from 1.43 to 1.40 eV for Q band and from 3.06 to 2.99 eV for B band with increasing treatment time with Talwen to 80 min.-
