Abstract EN
Enzymes are special proteins that catalyze the digestibility of a wide range of feed components such as fiber, phytate, protein in nonruminants diets.
Fiber-degrading enzymes were used to break down specially non-starch polysaccharides (NSP), which are large polymers, to smaller polymers to alleviate their anti-nutritive activities.
A total of 160 one day old commercial Cobb broiler chicks were divided into (8) groups in a 6 weeks feeding trial to investigate the effect of addition of the feed Enzymes (HerizymR), with or without antibacterial or anticoccidial drugs, on enhancing the feed efficiency and on controlling the hazard effect of Salmonella infection or Eimeria invasion of broiler chicks.
The obtained results indicated that dietary enzymes addition to broilers exposed to Salmonella infection or Eimeria invasion improved growth performance, decreased bacterial count and coccidian oocyte shedding, and enhanced Lactobacillus count.
Antibiotic and anticoccidia with enzyme addition had good recovery effect on histopathological finding in liver and intestine of broilers.
It could be concluded that enzyme dietary addition, with or without antibacteria and anticoccidia drugs, ameliorated the hazard effect of Salmonella infection or Eimeria invasion on performance and on histopathological finding in liver and intestine of broilers.
