Abstract EN
The kinetic characteristics, the isotherm models and the thermodynamic data of uranium adsorption by Ambersep 400 SO4 resin from a sulphate liquor of El-Erediya have been determined to describe the adsorption process.
The adsorption parameters including pH, contact time, initial uranium concentration, stirring rate and temperature have been optimized.
The adsorption capacity of uranium upon the resin under the optimum conditions has been found to attain 50 mg/g.
The working resin has been found to agree with both the pseudo second order reaction and the Langmuir isotherm and the adsorption confirms the concept of the matrix diffusion control.
