Effect of three plant extracts on controlling of tomato damping-off disease

Three plant leaves extract Fig, Robinia and Olive were used for controlling of tomato damping-off disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani (4 isolates), Acremonium sp., Fusarium solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium proliferatum.

The results of laboratory tests showed the most efficient one was fig leaf extract at 5000μg.ml-1 which caused the growth inhibition ranged 34.66 – 100 %, the extracts of Robinia and Olive leaves were less effective on growth inhibition of all pathogenic fungi.

In the greenhouse experiment, results the effect of fig leaf extraction was clear in decreasing the percentage of pre-emergence infection at concentrations of 5 and 10 % which ranged between 3.33 – 13.33% compared with untreated control which ranged between 30.00 – 40.00 % with no noticing post-emergence infections for all tested fungi compared with untreated control which ranged between 0 – 6.67%.

This proves that the efficiency of the plant extracts in controlling the percentages of infections in high degrees against all pathogenic fungi.
