The present study was conducted to find out the acute toxicity of diesel fuel on common carp (Cyprinus carpio).
The value of median lethal concentration LC50 were 0.0468, 0.0456, 0.0436 and 0.0416 % for exposure period 24, 48, 72 and 96 hr.
resprctively.
In general the behavioral changes included swimming close to surface, inactive state, loss of body balance and slow of operculum movement.
The value of liver enzyme function S.GOT and S.GPT show increase compared to control group, data analysis show significant effect (P<0.05) on S.GOT and S.GPT for exposure period and significant effect (P<0.05) for different concentration of diesel fuel.
