A study of the structural and electrical properties of MgAl2O4 Doped with MnO2

Abstract EN

The ceramic compound (MgAl2O4) was prepared by mixing Nano powder of Al2O3/MgO doped with Nano MnO2 at different proportions.

The Mixing Powders was pressed to (10 ton) .The samples were prepared by standard chemical solid reaction technique and sintered at 1450 o C.

Structure of the samples was analyzed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD).

The X-ray patterns of all the samples showed the formation of MgAl2O4 phase with pure simple cubic spinel structure and space group of ̅ .

The average grain size and surface topology was studied by atomic force microscopy.

The results show that average grain size was about 59.30 nm.

The DC electrical properties samples were measured.

The Hall charge mobility, Hall coefficient and charge carrier concentrations were investigated.

The apparent density was found to increase and the porosity and water absorption were found to decrease due to the added percentages change of MnO.
