هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على دوافع و معوقات استخدام شبكة الإنترنت من قبل العاملين في جامعة القدس المفتوحة خلال العام الدراسي 2002 / 2003، بالإضافة إلى التعرف على مدى توفر متطلبات استخدام الشبكة و مدى استخدامها. و قد تالف مجتمع الدراسة من 490 موظفا منهم (189) مشرفا أكاديميا و (301) موظفا إداريا و تم اختيار عينة عشوائية بنسبة 50 % من العاملين انسحبت على طبقات المجتمع و قد بلغ عدد أفراد العينة (244) موظفا، تم توزيع الاستبانات عليهم و استرجع منها (215) استبانة، تم إدخال بياناتها إلى الحاسوب و حللت باستخدام النسب المئوية و المتوسطات الحسابية و اختبار تحليل التباين الأحادي One Way ANOVA.
و قد أوضحت الدراسة أن 74.4 % من الأفراد يمتلكون أجهزة حاسوب شخصية، و 4.87 % يمتلكون أساسيات استخدام الحاسوب و الانترنت و 65.5 % تتوفر لديهم أجهزة حاسوب في مكاتبهم، كما تبين أن 4.62 % من أفراد العينة يستخدمون الانترنت بمفردهم و 5.37 % يستخدمونها بمساعدة الآخرين، و تبين أن 52.2 % منهم يستخدمون الانترنت بمعدل يتراوح ما بين 3 ساعات فما دون أسبوعيا.
كذلك أظهرت الدراسة أن أهم دوافع استخدام الانترنت تركزت على البحث العلمي، و متابعة المستجدات و المتغيرات السياسية في العالم، و الحصول على معلومات ثقافية مرتبطة بجوانب الحياة المختلفة و الإطلاع على تجارب الآخرين في المجالات المختلفة، و لم يتبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات استجابات العاملين في تحديد دوافع استخدام شبكة الانترنت وفق متغيرات المؤهل و مكان العمل و طبيعة العمل و التخصص، فيما تبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في دوافع الاستخدام وفق متغير العمر.
و بخصوص المعوقات أظهرت الدراسة أن أهم المعوقات تركزت في عدم توفر الوقت الكافي، و عدم توفر بطاقات اعتماد ائتمانية لخدمة عملية الدفع، و عدم امتلاك البعض لأجهزة حاسوب شخصية، و لم يتبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في متوسطات استجابات العاملين في تحديد المعوقات وفقا لمتغيرات العمر و المؤهل العلمي و طبيعة العمل فيما تبين وجود فروق وفقا لمتغير التخصص.
Abstract EN
This study reveals that (74.4%) of the sample members have their own personal computers ‚ (87.4%) Know the basics of computer and internet use and (68.5%) have computers at their offices .
It also reveals that (62.4%) of the sample members could use internet independently (37.5%) of the study sample need others assistance and (52.2%) of them use it up to 3 hours (37.6%) need other per week ‚ The results indicate that the most important motives for internet use are mainly in the field of scientific research ‚recent events and political changes in the world ‚ cultural information connected with various aspects of life and knowledge of others, experiences in different walks of life.
Moreover ‚ the findings of this study reveal that there are no significant differences in the motives of internet use due to qualifications‚ statistical differences in motives could be attributed to the variable of age .
In considering obstacles ‚ this study reveals that the most important obstacles are the lack of available time ‚ unavailability of credit cards to facilitate pay service and inability of some employees to possess personal computers .
Means of the responses show no significant statistical differences in obstacles due to age, qualifications, work place and specialization .
In the light of this study ‚ the researcher recommended that the university administration should: 1 ) Spread internet use to all administrators and academic supervisors in all educational regions.
2 ) Organize obligatory training courses for all employees in the fields of internet ‚ computer and electronic mail to reap the benefits of this service.
3 ) Make available general subscriptions in international libraries as well as Arabic and foreign periodicals.
