Abstract EN

This study aims at revealing the systematic use of “ opposition ” which forms the structure of Ahlem Moustaghanemi’s «Fawdha Elhawass ».In fact this author makes a systematic use of “opposition” between different pairs of entities throughout the story.

In addition to its function in the structure of a narrative text, this literary device under study (“ opposition ”) plays also an important role in conveying meaning.

We believe that the present study is worth undertaking in that it clarifies this concept of “ opposition ”.

The latter not only simplifies the meaning of the story, but it also helps « print » it in the reader ’s mind.

This literary device can be used at different levels of discourse, starting from the word level, the sentence level, the paragraph level, up to the chapter level.

It can also be used at a higher level, such as the trilogy level,for example, as is the case in Ahlem Moustaghanemi’s works.
