Histopathological effects of methomyl pesticide and mobile phone electromagnetic radiation on duodenum of male albino rats

Radon concentration and radon exhalation rates were measured from eight types of building materials (gravel, sand, cement, block, gypsum, gypsum board ceramic tile and concrete)in Koya University campus, Erbil-Iraqi Kurdistan.

CR-39 nuclear track detectors (NTDs) radon dosimeters and Rad 7 have been used as passive and active devises.

The values of radon concentration in building materials obtained from both techniques were found in a good agreement.

In both techniques, the highest and lowest radon concentrationvalues are (645±34.4 Bq/m3 and118±18.6 Bq/m3 ) were found in sand and ceramic tile samples, respectivelyWhile, the values of exhalation rates were (582.5±28.7 mBq/m2.h and 112.8±14.8 mBq/m2.h), respectively.

It depends on the radioactive content of the materials, emanation factor and diffusion coefficient of radon in that material, porosity and density of the material.

Average values of radium content were varied from 5.4 ± 0.2 to 14.8 ± 1.8 Bq/Kg
