A total of fifty samples were collected from local goat milk and cheese from October 2015 to February 2016.
Twenty six isolated were obtained depending on morphological, cultured, biochemical test and PCR technique.
Antibiotic sensitivity test were performed and it was found that the isolates resisted to Ciprofloxacin, Metronidazole, Tetracycline and Vancomycin.
However, it seemed to be sensitive towards Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone, Erythromycin, Imipenem, Levofloxacin and Penicillin.
Antimicrobial activity of Bacteriocin against three pathogenic bacteria (Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli) was conducted.
The results showed isolate 6 (E6), showed highest antimicrobial activity against L.
monoctogene and S.
aureus which were 22.8 and 15 mm inhibition zone respectively.
Whereas, the isolate 5 (E 5) showed the highest antimicrobial activity against E.
coli as 13.5 mm inhibition zone.
