In this work, the starting material 5-((3-chloro-4-methylphenyl)diazenyl)-2-hydroxy-benzaldehydewasbenzylated with benzyl bromideandthen subjected to react with different substituted acetophenones and phenylhydrazine in the presenceof sodium hydroxide via a one‐pot three‐componentreaction to give the desired new pyrazoline derivatives in highyields circumventingthe isolation and purification of chalconeintermediates.
The structures of the expected products were confirmed by usingspectroscopic techniques FT‐IR, 1H NMR, 13CNMR and 13C DEPT 135
