Linguists interested in studying the phenomena that have a role in linking text component and langustic units, and they depent on the meaning in determining its relations with each other that one of them is the References.

This research study terms of reference as one of the most important linguistic units that linked use of text, and within the meaning through context; the references are based in determining the meaning of the context deliberative of the text, it does not hold a specific meaning only through its presence in the text, and accordingly, the literal meaning may Do not give her real significance.

Addtionally, we have decided that this research be applied through the Quran assuming Surat Al-Zukhruf as a model to demonstrate the role of the authorities in linking text units specifically Quranic text.
