Abstract EN

Divorce is seen as one of the complicated problems whose concern is common among all societies in the past and modern days.

This problem is summarized into two contrasting issues.

First is that people attach little importance to the issue of divorce, and practice it because of trivial reasons.

This brings about the abundance of divorce in societies, the destruction of families and breaking up their members and the loss of women and children wrights.

Second issue is the categorical prohibition of divorce, and completely shutting its door or leaving a very narrow opportunity for its permission.

This compels a couple or one of them to continue their marital life despite whatever harm and suffering occur to one of the couple or both of them.

Consequently, some couples attempt to get rid of their marital relation by committing heinous crimes amounting to killing.

This study sheds light on Islamic perspective on divorce and its position in comparison to Judaic and Christian perspectives.

The researchers, in his discussion employ inductive, descriptive, analytic and comparative methods.

The study concludes that the Islamic perspective on divorce and its position is justice and intermediate solution between the immoderation of Judaism and the renunciation of Christianity.

It is also a solution to the problems which societies are suffering from in the case of divorce
