English Abstract

The study aimed at introducing the role of the higher studies in the Palestinian universities in the Gaza Strip in meeting the labor market needs.

The university system consists of the academic programs, working cadre, technical and requirement infrastructure, and curricula.

A questionnaire consisting of 33 statements was distributed randomly for 100 male and female students at the higher studies department in the Islamic University of Gaza.

The study used the relevant statistical tools and concluded that the offered academic programs by the higher studies influence directly the labor market in Gaza.

The study recommends, The higher studies must have clear and definite goals set by specialized\ staff members and students and in accordance with the developmental plans and the requirement of the labor market, and More attention should be given to the specializations of higher studies, its contribution to the fulfillment of the developmental requirements and market labor, and priority setting for the academic programs in the light of community demands.
