English Abstract
Bid evaluation is one of the major steps in the procurement process in construction industry.
This paper explores the manner of bid evaluation procedure according to the world bank procurement and identifies the main mistakes in contractor’s bid discovered during preliminary examination of bids.
It also investigates these mistakes made by bidders on 30 projects executed in Gaza strip and financed by welfare association consortium.
The results of this paper reveal that the main contractor’s mistakes were arise due to the lack experience of contractors, unclear documents, and legal misapply.
Such mistakes can be eliminated and mitigated by improving the contractors' performance and enforcing the law.
