English Abstract

The contractor's pre-qualification is a predominant process performed mainly by public clients to select the possible contractor to execute the work.

In the Gaza strip and West Bank, contractor’s pre-qualification practices are investigated.

The current practised systems to pre-qualify contractors within the public client's organizations were identified.

A structured E-mail based questionnaire survey was utilized.

It is found that the most used criteria to pre-qualify contractors for standing list are past experience, financial status, CV of the staff, past performance and site staff.

It is noticed that health and safety, claims history and income statement were rarely used in preparing the standing list of contractors.
