English Abstract

This paper presents the design and software implementation of a robust hybrid current control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motor fed by three level inverter.

The key features of the proposed controller is a simultaneous combination and contribution of the hysteresis current controller and the ramp comparator in order to take advantage of the position features of both the controllers.

The ramp comparison is the most commonly used controller for various kinds of power electronic systems.

Its switching frequency and thus output harmonic spectrum are fixed.

However, an inherent current tracking error exists.

The hysteresis current controller is simple, provides good amplitude control with outstanding robustness for machine parameters change and extremely good dynamics.

The hysteresis current control exhibits also several undesirable features, such as interference among the phases and variable switching frequency.
