Abstract EN

In this paper, a relationship between state transition diagrams (STD) and the transitions of the internal states of the learner’s mind is discovered.

It has been shown that these transitions are caused by the external events of instruction.

Based on this, a mathematical approach for screen derivation that relies on the STD’s together with the cognitive levels of the enhanced Bloom’s taxonomy was used.

For this purpose, AlBayan application, a computer program, was designed and implemented.

The program was tested by a lesson on Arabic Grammar.

The application successfully derived the required screens.

Compared with the Standard ISO/CEN 9241 of instructional design, the generated screens were found to be in compliance with that standard especially in the ease of use and user satisfaction section.

This emphasizes the high impact of AlBayan application and the STD model in assisting the process of instructional design.
