English Abstract

Mobility management is one of present modem society challenges.

Traffic management and analysis require good quality data.

This research paper analyses the present state of traffic data collection from the catalan road network, analyzing the multiple existing information sources.

Even if monitoring has been implemented largely in the road network homogenization is nonexistent.

Each operator publishes his memories according to his criteria and format, or he does not even publish them.

Different administrations that interact in Catalonia, conscious about this problem and within the framework of a work group for the definition and normalization for road traffic and mobility studies decided to unify the way the data should be presented of traffic data, and had incorporated the main autonomic data in the general Spanish Maps of Traffic, in an interactive computer science format.

This methodology has been applied to the catalan road network.

A geographic Information System (GIS) of the traffic measurement elements in the Catalan network has been developed, obtaining a detailed analysis of the density of traffic measure.
