English Abstract
The applications of liquid crystals are related to the electro-optical characteristics of these materials by applying external magnetic or electrical field, the response of liquid crysta in turn is related to the thermophysical parameters and phase properties at a given temperature and compositions.
In this work, we study the effect of the preparation conditions in terms of UV rate, EB rate and the photoinitiator concentration on the mechanical behavior of acrylate polymers and describe internal morphology of the polymer blend based on the variation of these properties in an attempt to improve the final properties of the polymer matrix.
The effect of high EB irradiation doses on the molecular weight distribution MWD of polymer chain was investigated by comparing the molar mass of polymer unit at low to relatively high irradiation rates.
This work lead to better understanding the physiochemical properties and morphology of polymer composites prepared under different preparation conditions.
This work supports the selection of appropriate experimental parameters as a basis for preparing variety of polymer / liquid crystal composites and evaluating the applicability of the curing conditions to prepare highly functional polymer materials.
