English Abstract

The social researches in the field of the city and the crime confirmed that there is a correlation between behavioral abnormalities and breadth of civilization.

It is no longer a secret that there is a relationship between increased crime rate and the large size of the city in terms of population density.

This research aims to detect the presence of a statistically significant relationship between urbanization and the crime of theft, taking into account the urban manifestations in the Gaza strip.

The study was conducted by relying on data and statistics from architects, planners and police stations through interviews with people in charge and the distribution of the questionnaires on the areas of study.

The results showed that the theft rates rise as expanded space and increased population density and increased urban congestion.

It is also found that the strength of cohesion and social ties reduce the rates of theft in the villages.
