Abstract EN

Published studies on the epidemiology and the trend of paediatric diseases in a whole year round are scarce.1–3 The primary aim of this study was to define inpatient profile in a single unit at the Paediatric Hospital of Ain Shams University which is a university- based tertiary care hospital as we believed this will give us valuable insight into the map of diseases in our locality; thus helping with planning and prioritising the provided health services.

Collecting these data will also constitute the backbone data directing audit performance and resource distribution when clustering of certain diseases is noted.

The secondary aim of this study was to identify diseases responsible for most of the mortalities to revise the hospital management plan for such diseases
