Some elements have been determined in the flowers, leaves and roots of Pterocephalus nestorianus Nab.

(Dipsacaceae family) which collected on Safeen Mountain from Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The 65 elemental analyses are carried out using ICP-OES and ICP-MS techniques.

Among the macro elements calcium represents the highest, followed by potassium, magnesium, sulfur, aluminum, Iron, phosphor and sodium are represented nutrient elements for the plants.

Minor elements B, Ba, Al, Cu, Ni, Cr, Mn, Zn and Sr are between 1 - 100 mg/kg.

The Ca has recorded the highest concentration in leaves (36100 mg/kg), followed K (6900 mg/kg), Mg (5530 mg/kg), S (3200 mg/kg), Fe (1920 mg/kg), Al (1850 mg/kg), and P (790 mg/kg) are essential elements while the minimum concentrations (mg/kg) were recorded of each of Bi (0.005), Pt (0.002) and Au (0.0007) from flowers, leaves and roots respectively in Pterocephalus nestorianus Nab.

These findings open the door for more researches in this plant as there is not enough data about it in the literature.
