English Abstract

A new series of substituted ethyl 7-cyclopropyl-2-(2-aryloxo)-3-nitro-4- oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno[2,3-b]pyridine-5-carboxylate 97a-f have been prepared utilizing ethyl 2-chloro-7-cyclopropyl-3-nitro-4-oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno[ 2,3-b]pyridine-5-carboxylate 95 and phenol 96a or Salicylaldehyde derivatives 96b-f.

By replacing of the 2-chloroine atom by phenol 96a and Salicylaldehyde derivatives 96b-f anion to produce the respective ethyl 7- cyclopropyl-2-(2-aryloxo)-3-nitro-4-oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno[2,3-b]pyridine- 5-carboxylate 97a-f.

The new compounds are supported by using different spectroscopic techniques such as ( IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR 2D (COSY HMQR and HMBC), elemental analysis (C H N) and ESI-HRMS).

Then evaluate the bioactivity of the new compounds
