English Abstract
One of the main problems of the Al-Mujib pumping station is the increasing levels of vibrations with operation time exceeding the acceptable levels .This problem leads to catastrophic damage in bearing and consequently the pump efficiency and life cycle .
Theoretical and experimental analysis of the problem have been carried out in this work .
A special designed rubber expansion joint was installed to reduce the vibration levels The results have shown after installing a special designed rubber joint in suction and discharge lines .
The reduction in excessive vibration was about 36% also increasing the operation hours by about 56% .These values have a reliable impact in reducing life cycle cost of bearings.
