Abstract EN

The writings on the History of relations between Algerian and Tunisian regencies reported that the Algerian authority was always the first to intervene in the affairs of the Tunis Regency, and this judgment is affirmed by the majority of European Historians.

But after a research from various works, it appeared that there had been no intervention in the internal affairs but they had provided an assistance and replied to the demands of the Beys of Tunis, as it is demonstrated in this present research.

It is well known that in the XVIIIth century, the Algerian territory was a refuge for the Tunisian opponents.

Through the present work, it was possible to know the civil wars that the Tunisian regency had known.

But, always, the opponents had failed and asked the help of the Algerian authorities which made of their territory a refuge for the opponents on the condition that they accept their demands, which made the relations between the two countries tense.
