An Islamic bank is planning to launch a retail product to fulfill the personal finance needs of its customers. The product is based on the Salam contract. Shariah guidance is required as to whether it is permissible for the Islamic bank to fix one type of commodity to be the subject matter of Salam for all its customers ? Guidance is also required to know what commodity is eligible as the subject matter of the Salam contract.
