أثر المشاركة السياسية على فاعلية أداء المجالس البلدية في المملكة العربية السعودية خلال الفترة الانتخابية الثانية (2015-2011 م)‎

Abstract EN

This study investigates the relationship between turnout in local elections and the effectiveness of the performance of local councils based on the second election cycle (2011-2015).

The study adopts the comprehensive survey approach which takes into account all elements and divisions of the study population.

A population study relying on data from the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, which includes all municipalities councils in the kingdom all over the thirteen administrative regions, on turnout and performance and decisions of municipal councils during the fouryears period was undertaken.

The results were examined using a simple linear correlation coefficient and a simple regression analysis that measured the relationship between turnout and the level of effectiveness of performance of municipal councils, based on three categories of decisions: implemented, under implementation, and non-implemented.

The results indicated that there was a significant relation between political participation, represented in turnout and the effectiveness of municipal councils, represented in implemented decisions
