Abstract EN

The telluric microflora of agricultural soil allows supplying of several ecosystematic services, for instance recycling of available nutritious elements for plant production.

Use of herbicides in the perimeter is however disturbing life and microbial activities function.

In the framework of this targeted work an interesting problem which is: What would be effect of Glyphosate and 2.4-D on organic carbon mineralisation (CO2) and on production of NO- 3 and NH4 in the irrigable perimeter soils of Bou Namoussa.

For each herbicide, we have retained three doses.

Samples have been put in incubation in a simple container in darkness (T=28°c and 2/3 of holding capacity during two months.

The obtained results by this experiment reveal existence of a harmful impact of these both herbicides on CO2 NH4 + and NO production compared to witnesses.

It follows that 2.4-D is more toxic than Glyphosate on carbon and organic nitrogen production Confirmation of herbicides toxic effect is translated by inhibitory effects.

Also, when dose of herbicides increases (D2 and D3) in both loamy and sandy soils, inhibitory effect of this product increases.

It can be concluded that application of Glyphosate and 2.4-D can alter (decrease) microbial population quality and the groundwater through herbicides leeching into sandy soil.
