Evaluation of some immunological Aspects for Iraqi patients infected with hydatidosis

The study was carried out to asses cytokines in regulation of the immune response which were performed on 50 blood samples of hydatidosis and 20 healthy control.

They were collected between October,2015 and April,2016 from different hospitals in Iraqi provinces, 20 samples clinically diagnosed and 30 surgically proved .

A high significant increase (P<0.05) of serum IFN- γ and IL-10 in hydatidosis patients compared to the control group.

On the other hand ,sera of patients collected pre-operation showed a significant decrease (P<0.05) in IFN- compared to the post- operation patient sera ,while the sera of patients collected pre-operation showed a significant increase (P<0.05) in IL-10 compared to the post-operation sera.

Furthermore, the small size cyst showed a significant increase (P<0.05) in IFN- and significant decrease in IL-10 (P<0.05) compared to those with large size cyst.

These hydatid patients showed higher production of IL-10 and lower IFN-ɣ, resulting in higher ratio of IL-10 : IFN- compared to the control group ratio
