English Abstract

Ethyl 7-cyclopropyl-2-(N-arylamino)-3-nitro-4-Oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno [2,3-b]pyridine-5-carboxylate (51a-d) and Ethyl 7-cyclopropyl-2-(Narylamino)- 3-nitro-4-Oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno[2,3-b] pyridine -5-carboxylic acid (52a,d) compounds, were synthesized via palladium-catalysed amination of ethyl 2-chloro-7-cyclopropyl-3-nitro-4-Oxo-4,7-dihydrothieno [2,3-b] pyridine-5-carboxylate (49) with primary aryl amines (50a-d) ,then compounds (51a ,d) were hydrolyzed in Acidic solution.

All prepared compounds (51a-d) and (52d) were characterized by1H-NMR,13C-NMR, EIMS, HR-MS, Elemental analysis (C,H,N,S) and IR, and were consistent with proposed structures .

Compound (52d) has a weak of antibacterial activity against Gram negative bacteria E.aerogenas and Gram positive bacteria S.aureus .
