English Abstract

Five azomethine compounds were synthesized by condensation of 3,3’-dimethyl-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine with substituted aldehydes, then converting to oxazepines compounds by reaction with phthalic anhydride, which was then converted to diazepines by reaction with aniline.

All the compounds were prepared under ultrasound irradiation condition which is an efficient method of synthesis having highest yield, shorter reaction time besides using a little amount of solvents.

The structures of products were confirmed by I.R, H- and C-NMR techniques.
