The Manuscripts of “the Cure of the Apparent and Hidden Diseases” By Shaykh Ahmad ibn Omar Er-Raggadi Al- Kunti” is considered as one of the most famous medicine booksin the Sahara.

Though it goes back to the eleventh century Hegira the seventeenth century AD, it is considered as an important source in medicine in the whole West Africa, and a reliable source to understand health troubles.

The manuscripts includes five hundred and six illustrations (506) , the copy in Mama Haidara library in Timbuktu, in which Shaykh Al-Kunti gathered his experience and that of his clan to cure a number of frequent diseases in the Sahara.

The manuscripts also includes the description of some plants and minerals and their virtues, and many spiritual prescriptions to cure some psychological diseases such as paranoia, stress and haunting.
