Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the key déterminants of unemployment rate in Algeria during the period 1980-2014, through the construction of an econometric model to explain that.

The results have showed that the economic growth rate, public spending and oil prices are the most important unemployment determinants in Algeria.

The study also has concluded that the monetary policy is limited in influencing the unemployment rates, and public spending policy has more impact on the unemployment rate than the monetary policy.
