Specific composition of zoobenthic communities and distribution were determined in littoral and sublittoral zones at three stations of the Syrian coast: Almentar-south of Tartous, Lattakia and RaasAlbassit at the north).

A total of (209) species belonging to 15 Macrotaxons were encountered, of which gastropoda had the highest number of species (93) species, followed by Bivalvia (57) species, and Crustacea (26) species, in addition to 33species of the other taxons.

Changes of Zoobenthic communities were strongly correlated with depth, the type of bottom and level of disturbance produced by Anthropogenic activities.

A total of (30) alien species were found in the areas, of which (13) species were recorded for the first time in the Syrian water, they were 6 species of Gastropoda, 4species of Bivalvia and 3 species of Crustacea.
