Effect of mono-alkoxy pyrophosphato coupling agent on the mechanical properties of magnesium hydroxide

Abstract EN

Effect of treated of coupling agent (mono-alkoxy pyrophophato coupling agent) on mechanical properties of composites made from Ethylene vinyl-acetate copolymer and magnesium hydroxide is reported here.

The coupling agent in the form of solution (1.5%) was used to treated the filler .The treated resulted in enhancement of mechanical properties of composites when compared with composites containing untreated magnesium hydroxide.

best reinforcement was observed due to treatment with 1.5% coupling agent, which imparted better reinforcing mechanical properties.

Results shows that tensile strength was improved by 26.1%, (%) elongation at break was improve by 11.75%, while hardness was improved by 0.52%, at ( 0.21 ) volume fraction.
