Abstract EN

Algeria has taken a number of reforms in the agricultural sector from independence to the present day in order to achieve food security and independence from food dependency, and improve the standards of living of the rural populations.

In some developmental programs in this area, we can discuss the National Plan for Agricultural Development, which has started in 2000.

The majority of the “Wilayas” have benefited from it through some financial assistance, and in order to be used efficiently, and one of these “Wilayas”, we can mention the case of the Wilaya of Saida (in the west of Algeria).

Saida tries to benefit from this project in order to boost the agricultural sector and to ameliorate the social conditions of the agricultural households, taking in consideration that such Wilaya is considered as an agricultural and agro-pastoral region.
