Abstract EN

This study investigates the constant and the variable between the First Saudi State 1745-1818 and the Ottoman Iraq.

The study begins discussing the overall conditions for the emergence of the First Saudi State in the time when the Ottoman state was declining.

It elaborates on the conditions that led to the emergence of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdel-Wahhab and his alliance with the Saudis in Najd.

Then, the study tackles the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Ottoman Iraq with all its various components along with the geopolitical factors.

So, it shows how the relationship started with caution from both sides and how that triggered war between them.

The study concludes that none of the two parties had dominated the other as well as the inability of the Ottoman rulers to stop the Saudi power and dominance on the neighboring territories.

This, in turn, led to the ottomans to call other forces to help in turning down the First Saudi State.
