The essay by Professor Cesare Merlini under the heading “A Post- Secular World” attempts to answer the following question: Has the world entered the post-secularism phase? Merlini states that the comeback of religion to the global political arena during the past decades leads us to discuss the fate of post-secularism and the global transition to the post- secularism phase.

The signs of change in the global order which prevailed since the Peace of Westphalia are beginning to become evident, and the world finds itself facing two scenarios today: The first one purposes the collapse of the global order and the entrance into a state of chaos and conflict while the second one purposes the survival of the current solid order.

Merlini clarifies that the second scenario is more likely and that presentations which don’t believe in multiplicity have no future.
