معوقات تطبيق إدارة الجودة الشاملة في الجامعات الفلسطينية : دراسة حالة الجامعة العربية الأمريكي

Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the most important obstacles which limit the implementation of the Total Quality Management (TQM) in the Palestinian Universities from the perspective of the Arab American University (AAU) faculty, chosen here only as a model of the said institutions.

The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach, by designing a questionnaire in order to gather data from the study sample of (68) )AAU( faculty members.

After gathering the data and analyzing them, results showed hat there is a significance of the obstacles, which limit the implementation of total quality management in all areas of the study: leadership aspects, cognitive aspects, work procedures of the organization, scientific research, and community service aspects.

The results showed a differences of statistical significance among the average responses to the obstacles, according to the sex variable in favor of males, according the educational qualification, the variable was in favor of the Ph.D holders while no differences in the obstacles were found according to the variable of the years of experience.

The study made recommendations to the university concerned to review its organizational work rules, and to further increase the involvement of the faculty members in the various areas of the administrative process
