طبيعة و مضمون الحق في السكن اللائق في الدستور الأردني : دراسة مقارنة

Abstract EN

This study aimed at shedding the light on the right to adequate housing in the Jordanian constitution.

We compared its stipulations with other modern constitutions and with the principles stipulated in the Islamic Sharia as well as with international human rights standards.

In the Jordanian Constitution there is no mention of the right to adequate housing and it did not show the role that the state should play in providing people with such housing.

Based on the study, a number of recommendations was proposed in order to make national legislation comply with the Islamic Sharia and international human rights standards; for most is the amendment of the Jordanian constitution to explicitly address the right to housing.
