Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the most prominent aspects of the desert caravan trade between Algeria and Tripoli (Libya) during the ottoman Era , which has witnessed -in general- the boon of trade exchanges between the contemporary Maghreb Countries in a very flowing aspect , currently speaking , traders used to import laking goods to the internal markets and export goods that were beyond the need of their customers .

This was within their countries or sometimes beyond them without caring about stumbling blocks such as taxes , revolutions and chaos that were impeding their movements .

This study also focuses on determining the main desert paths and dominating element in the trade exchanges between both countries , the principal exchanged goods in the commercial centres and showing the role of the desert caravan trade in the social union and the economic complementarity between both countries.
