The aftermath of the Iranian Revolution in 1979 triggered a tense atmosphere amongst the Shiite community that shook the social structure and deepened the problem in the Arab world.

After the level of violence conducted by Shiite organizations started to decrease in the 90s with the death of Al Khomeini, and having those organizations compromise with the Arab governments.

Sectarian violence returned to the region with the American invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the Arab uprising in 2011.

The conflict between Shiite and Sunni keeps on escalating as Iran’s interference in the region increases
