Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and problem _Solving ability among secondary school pupils.

The sample study consisted of (131) male and female pupils.

Second-Year pupils were selected using simple random sampling from Houari Boumediene and New Barhom secondary schools for the academic year ) 2013-2014).

In order to achieve the study goals, Emotional Intelligence Scale prepared by Osman & Rizk (1998 ) and Personal Problem _Solving Inventory (PPSI) for Heppner & Petersen translated and revised by Samadi (1992).

The study results showed a statistically significant relationship at the level of (0.01) between emotional intelligence dimensions (emotions management, empathy, emotional regulation, emotional awareness, and the total score) and problem _solving ability, and also a statistically significant at the level of (0.05) between social communication and problem _solving ability dimensions.
