The current study aimed at investigating the quality degree of practicum program at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Al-Quds Open University (QOU) In Palestine.
Furthermore, the study aimed to explore the role of variables of: gender, academic level, university experience, university branch and the frequency of teaching this course by the faculty members on their evaluation of the quality of practicum program at QOU.
The study used a mixed method of qualitative and quantitative by which the analytical descriptive approach was employed among a sample of 86 academic members at QOU.
To achieve the study objectives, a 56-item questionnaire was constructed, validated and checked in terms of validity and reliability to be administered on the target sample in addition to using the focus–group technique to get some qualitative data that can confirm the validity of the quantitative data.
Results indicated that the total degree of the quality of QOU practicum program at the Faculty of Educational Sciences scored a high mean which is (4.04) and that all study domains scored high degrees of evaluation.
The domain which scored the highest was "Quality of student's preparation for practicum"; the second domain was "Quality of the practicum content"; the third domain was "Quality of practicum program objectives" ; the forth was "Quality of traditional and electronic learning resources used in the practicum"; and the lowest domain was "Quality of practicum effectiveness and follow-up procedures".
The results also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the responses of the faculty members towards the quality of practicum program at QOU due to the gender, academic level, university experience, university branch and the frequency of teaching this course by the faculty member.
On the other hand, the focus- group technique revealed a number of valuable results such as the importance of practicum quality as a tool to equip the practicum student-teachers with the necessary teaching skills and competences, interaction and communication skills and other competences.
