Abstract EN

The Islamic law motivates Muslims on actions and production so that every Muslim can provide his own needs from his job and career.

Begging phenomenon spread enormously in cities, streets and markets of Basrah governorate.

This phenomenon has a complex and dangerous dimensions so this paper attempts to shed some lights on begging and the fact of its existence in Basrah.

It also tries to identify its causes and effects as well as briefly introduces the rules about begging in Islamic law.

In the end, the paper in hand, suggested treatments for this risky phenomenon.
