Audience has got an important role in theatre.

this importance is due to the specificity of the theatrical art which rests on the text and acting at the same time thus reception depends on reading and viewing at the same time ; the different types of theatre schools led different theatrical theories which target the audience and aim in influencing his psychological and intellectual state; despite the different views about theatre ; they can be classified into two bread trends: catharsis (Aristotle) and disillusion (Brecht).
