Abstract EN

The research sought for employing the technology of (Geographical Information Systems) in preparing numeral maps with a highly accuracy for the numerical and relative change in Dhi-qar province.

It is clear that any phenomenon to be represented on maps, it should be based on the population data.

Moreover, the population phenomena are subjected to a continuous change, though it is very important to deal with the population data in Geographic information Systems.

This is due these systems are characterized by enormous potential in dealing with the statistical data in terms of modernization, omission, addition and it is hard to deal traditionally with statistical processes for database.

The research concluded a set of conclusions can be stated as follow:There are clear changes which could distinguish Dhi-qar province from other places for three periods detailed in research subject.

There was an increase in the first period between (1987-1997) in some administrative units as well as decrease (-33588,297318) in some other.

While in the second period between (1997-2007) Dhi-qar population has changed positively.

The increase has reached about (558127).

There was also appositive change in 3rd period in Dhi-qar province.
