Abstract EN

Many Persian figures assisted the Abbasids since the beginning of their secret call, and then during the revolution and struggle against the Umayyads which resulted in bringing down the Umayyad State and the establishment of Abbasid Caliphate.

Due to the large number of these Persian characters and the difficulty of enumeration, this study aimed to highlight the roles and functions of the most prominent Persian figures until the era of Ma’mun.

The study employed the scientific historical method on gathering and analyzing the data in accordance with the scientific method.

The study results revealed that thirty-four Persian figures had prominent contributions to the Abbasids in calling for revolution and war against the Umayyads.

These figures played important roles in controlling the affairs of the Abbasid civil, military, science and medicine services.

The findings may add a new contribution to research studies that shed light on some embedded aspects of the Islamic civilization, which can be beneficial for future research.
